The locksmith side of Upper East Locksmith works out of S & V General Supply Co at 1450 1st Ave. Walk in for key cutting while you pick up paint, plumbing, or lumber, or ask the shop about a lock job and a locksmith takes it from there.

Store hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Sunday closed.

Questions we hear at the shop.

Can I get keys copied while I shop?
Yes. Key cutting runs out of S&V Hardware at 1450 1st Ave during store hours, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Bring the key you want copied, including mailbox and padlock keys.
Do you only work on the Upper East Side?
No. The shop is on the Upper East Side, but locksmith calls go out across Manhattan, including the Upper West Side, Midtown, the Villages, SoHo, Tribeca, and the Financial District.
I'm locked out at night. What do I do?
Call the emergency line. It is answered around the clock, and a locksmith is dispatched to your address. Have ID that shows you live or work there, which the locksmith checks before opening the door.
Should I rekey my lock or replace it?
If the lock body is in good shape, a rekey changes the pins so the old keys no longer turn the cylinder, and you get a fresh set. If the hardware is worn, sticking, or outdated, replacement makes more sense. We look at the lock and lay out both options before any work starts.
Do you install smart locks?
Yes. Keypad deadbolts and smart locks are fitted to apartment and townhouse doors, set up with codes you control, and paired to your phone where the model supports it. Check house rules first if you rent.
