High-Security Locks and Restricted Keys

High-security hardware is about key control: restricted keyways, hardened components, and copies cut only for the cardholder on record.

What high-security means in practice

These systems differ from stock hardware by mechanism, not by promise. Restricted keyways mean blanks are not sold on the open market. Copies require the authorization card or signature on file. Cylinders use hardened components and tighter machining tolerances than builder-grade locks.

Who asks for this

How a system gets set up

We look at your doors, existing hardware, and who needs which access. Then the cylinders are fitted, the authorization record is established, and future copies run through that record at the shop on 1st Ave.

Common questions

Can one restricted key open several doors?

Yes, where the cylinders are keyed together under the system. That is a common setup for a townhouse front door, garden door, and cellar gate.

What happens if a restricted key is lost?

The affected cylinders are rekeyed within the system and fresh keys are issued against the record, so the missing key no longer turns them.
